Application upgrade rights

Hi Kiran, I don’t know which product this is and what the license rules are but normally when a new version of a product is release within the subscription (maintenance) period you are allowed to use this version. The upgrade rights list box on the license maintenance tab is indeed used to upgrade the license within the maintenance period to the latest version if discovered on you network. Is this 2018 version released before the end of your subscription? If yes, you are probably allowed to use it. Snow will take into account the release date of the product and the subscription dates you provided on the license maintenance tab. You can check this in your contract. If the answer is yes but due to the contract you are not allowed to use version 2018, you can create separate licenses for 2016 and 2017 and set the upgrade rights on the license maintenance tab to No . If the answer is no we need to check why Snow thinks this 2018 version is release before March 2018. This is something we need to check with support for which you can log a ticket. So, for your last question. If you use the Upgrade license checkbox on the main license page it means this license is an upgrade license and not a full license. An upgrade license always needs a base license. These 2 licenses, 1. The base license and 2. The upgrade license give you the right to use the new version.
