How to "flag" a Enterprise Agreement?

Hi,

could somebody tell me, how to flag a License for the whole company?

We have some "Enterprise Agreements", which allows us to install the Software at every Device which belongs to our company.

How do i flag this "metric"? I cannot find any setting like that. At the moment i ve set an fictive "9999 Installations" to the license. But this isnt really true...

Thanks for helping me!

  • As ‌ mentioned, it would make more sense excluding the application from compliance, with a description of why it's been excluded for future reference. The current method of adding 9999 does work, but will affect the overall compliance summary (being over-licensed), as well as showing inaccurate potential cost saving if license costs have been added. Hope this helps.
  • If it really is a true enterprise agreement with no number of installation/users associated to it, then the way you've done it works well. The other way would be to manually exclude this application from compliance calculations.
  • Like Lars recommend the Assignment type  Site was implemented to cover a whole organisation or an suborganisation without any limit. You have a license and you can correctly cover your installations with that. So this should be documented. Compliance exclusions are a new way that helps for special situations. For example applications, that are covered by a Visual Studio developer license. But I would only use that, if nothing else is possible. If you don't configure that correctly, then you perhaps would not be aware of an incompliance.

  • Hello, please use as license metric for this "Installation" and as Assignment Type "Site" for this license. So you cover all installations for this applikation with one license. That is the easiest way.
  • Great question  ‌; I have had this same question myself.  can you clarify, what should the license quantity be is when using Assignment type "Site", should it still be '9999' or do we use a rough figure of installs etc.  It would be great if Snow could make a license type 'Enterprise' to save using these exceptions and workarounds which might confuse our colleagues in the future, or ourselves.
    • Hi EE When you use the site assignment type the quantity is automatically set to 1
