Remove license requirement for unused applications

We have applications that we license both per User and per Device (Adobe CC for example). This means that a given user could have the application on several machines. I set the Application metric to Installation and the assignment to Installation/User or Installation/Device The problem is that Snow marks a requirement for an application that is unused. It would normally be covered by a licensed user but either the user has not used it yet or the usage has passed the metering period. How to deal with this situation? (Sorry if I missed an obvious setting there ... )

Hi Samuel, I hope I understand your question correctly: If applications are not required by users, should no license requirement be generated? The license requirement usually does not result from the actual usage but from the provision. For example, you have to license one Office per accessing device, even if it was provided only once on a terminal server. In the worst case also for all accessing devices, although they would not need the Office. Snow shows you in this case the license requirement and can differentiate how to license. If a user logs on to 10 Devices, but is licensed as a user, this license will be covered. Best Regards and a nice weekend Julian

  I understand. But let's take the following situation: A licensed user has the software installed on 10 computers but has only been using the application on 5 of those computers in the last 3 months. Question : how do I cover the 5 other instances of the software? Those do not technically require a license do they?
