Inventory: snowagent and it's configuration
Dear community, we use the System Center Configuration Manager from Microsoft to collect data from clients. Now i will test the snowagent on my client, so that i can use it for some server. I exported an config file for the snow support team and i got my snowagent.msi. I installed the client and some days passed. Today i would look if i have some data collected via snowagent but in the SMACC i will get these info: First question, where can i see from which agent the data where collected? I studied this pdf for informations: SI5_ConfigurationGuide_SnowAgents.pdf The selftest on bottom: No return code so it's successful? But i don't get the webpage for inventory server. Do i have to configure something in the smacc or integration manager? Some help needed :-) thanks and have a great weekend Steffen

Hi Steffen, SCCM imports and Snow Inventory Agent scan results will be matched to one machine. Whatever information comes last will be present. So I would like you to have a look at the agent scan/send time (snowagent.config) as well as the SCCM connector in Snow Integration Manager. Best practice would be to first import SCCM and then let the agent perform its scan/send. Please let me know if you need anything else! /marcel

    • Hi Marcel, sorry about the late feedback. The snow agent sends every day at 12 his data. I don't find the time for sccm connector, where's it at? I'am reconfiguring my snowagent.config file because i don't get the Inventory Server site via https: The Dashboard is working fine. Or is there a setting on the server which i have to configure? thanks best regards Steffen

Hi Steffen, your agent should be able to send its files to the Inventory Server. The Inventory Server configuration can be found in the following file: C:\Program Files\Snow Software\Snow Inventory\Server\snowserver.config Please have a look at  <BaseAddress>http(s)://SERVERNAME:PORT</BaseAddress> . This is the address that you need to put in the Snow Inventory Agent configuration. The server should be reachable by performing the browser test mentioned above. If not, please tell me and we'll work this out. Change scheduling of the SCCM import: In your Snow Integration Manager, select the connector and then hit 'Schedule'. The time of the SCCM import should be before the agent scan, e.g. 06:00. /marcel

          • Hi Marcel, thank you for your reply. The following address is stored in the server configuration file <BaseAddress> https://*:443 </BaseAddress> Okay, i didn't write this address in the agent config file, could that be the fault? This is our sccm schedule: thanks Steffen

Hi Steffen, Server Endpoint: * stands for the server host name. Please try https://SERVERNAME:443  in the browser. SCCM Schedule: This is the right place to make scheduling changes. As told previously, it is best practice to first import SCCM data and then let the agent scan. However this may vary in your scenario and I will not recommend these changes without having a look at your environment and general situation. If you would like to change this, please go ahead. If you have contact to any partner or Snow consultant, please give them a short call. /marcel

              • Hi Marcel, if i type  https://SERVERNAME:443  in the browser it has no effect. Website isn't reachable. For SCCM schedule i will take some changes on next days. thanks Steffen

Hi Steffen, sorry for the late reply - I was in several projects. After reading our previous conversation - did you type https://SERVERNAME:443  or did you replace 'SERVERNAME' with the machine name where Snow Inventory is running on? This could be the fault. /marcel
