Cloud App Metering

Recently been advised, by our service provider that cloud applications can only be enabled with Google Chrome as it doesn't yet work with Internet Explorer.

If this is correct, when will we be able to enable it with IE?

Regards

Hello  Peter Shave , not a all, we now support Chrome, IE11 and Firefox.  The stipulation is you need to be on the latest agents. more on this can be found here:  Technical Description: Cloud Application Metering
    • Hi! Do we have to specify in the agent order request that Firefox will be used? I heard recently that it has to be activated and does not come out of the box. Regards, Maria

Hi ‌, please review the Technical Description: Cloud application metering for Snow Inventory 6  to get information about how Cloud Application Metering works. Regarding your question: NO, you don't need to specify the use of Firefox when requesting the agent. Hello  Maria  and  Marcel , The Edge browser was recently added in the 6.1.0 windows agent. The extension is "on" in the default snowagent.config file.  However, often times when people ask for an installer package from Snow they provide their current config, which most likely does not have it turned on in that file.  Best to let us know if want it enabled.  If you want to know if they have been enabled, take a look down at the bottom of the snowagent.config file for these entries: saas.ie11.enabled Only applicable to the Windows Agent.   Set this to false to prevent installation of the IE11 browser add-on. Acceptable value: true/false Default value: true saas.edge.enabled Only applicable to the Windows Agent.   Set this to true to enable the Edge browser extension. Note that distribution from Microsoft Store for Business is needed in order to install the Edge browser extension. Acceptable value: true/false Default value: true saas.chrome.enabled Set this to false to prevent installation of the Chrome browser extension. Acceptable value: true/false Default value: true saas.firefox.enabled Set this to true to enable installation of the Firefox browser extension. Acceptable value: true/false Default value: false This table is from this document:  Technical Reference: Configuration document for all Inventory agents The net of all this is, if you want the new edge browser extension, it is best to tell support to add it.   Also, A shameless plug of a new feature on our KB's hit the subscribe button on that article, to get notification when it gets updated: Resolution Manager – Americas E-mail  landon.owens@snowsoftware.com
