SNOW Synchronization with the Active Directory

Hi All,

I am working with SNOW and as I know SNOW Device Manager is taking the devices related to the network from the Active Directory.

My question is: what is the periode that SNOW takes to update the devices list and to synchronize with the Active Directory.

Thank you in advance

  • Hi, I believe this is once a day and is configured via the active directory app on your inventory server (note this may have changed for inventory 5 but i'm not sure). regardless of that there should be a schedule somewhere if it has changed
  • Hi Ian, Thank you for your response! I am asking this question because there is a devise which was deleted from the Active Directory by the last week and still existing in SNOW until now! Then, I have wrong reports!

Hi Houda - just for clarify . Your question is regarding the Snow Device Manager for Smartphone management? For me it sounds like a question regarding Snow Inventory AD scan. What does you mean with “Device”. Can you add some more details, please.
    • Hi Siegfried, thank you for your question. I was wondering for the period token by SNOW to synchronize with Active Directory. Now I got the information. Thanks!
  • Hello, how have you solved? I have the same issue. AD objects are discovered in Inventory admin every week and I would like to force syncronization between inventory and AD. How can I do it? Thanks!

Hi Giovanni,  this can be solved by implementing a customized scripting solution. Please get in touch with your snow sales contact person. He is able to organize the appropriate technical guide. thx Siggi
