  • I have an additional comment. I wanted to activate most of our inactive computers automatically, when they send inventory data again. Our Snow consultant created a custom procedure for us. This procedure is running in the DUJ and then set computers to status active, based on some conditions.   So your Snow support team perhaps can help you, when you want to do that automatically.
    • Hi Carola. That is very useful information, that this is in fact possible. On a general level I cannot see that this (perhaps optional) feature wouldn't be of interest to many of us. Would you mind giving a mention to your Snow consultant or team, that I would be interested in hearing whether this is considered as a candidate to become a feature request? Thanks /jesper
      • Hi Jesper, I already sent this as feature request, some years ago. But as nothing happend our consultant offered me this way to "autoactivate" our computers again. So I didn't ask for that feature request any more. I think that this would be useful also for several customers. I shortly read another blog here in the community, with the same question. I remember that someone from Snow stated, that the computers will automatically be activated again. So I was not sure, if this perhaps meanwhile is solved. I would not notice that, because we have our custom procedure. Unfortunately I cannot find this blog any more. In our procedure we defined, that all computers will be activated again after sending new data, except computers, where autoquarantine is deactivated computers, that are in a special company part (stolen computers or sold computers, where Inventory client was not uninstalled) I also assume someone of Snow will read this. So dear Snow's: In case this is not solved already, would you please add this as a Feature Request. Create a setting in SMACC, where customers can decide. if they want to activate computers automatically, when automatic quarantine  management is not deactivated. /Carola

I have created a Feature Request, FR0002239, on this topic.
  • A computer will never automatically change status from inactive to active. You will instead receive an alert or notification on inactive computers sending (updated) information to the system. You can then manually change the status of the machine to active again.
