Software Licenced only for Hardware

Hi Josh, The only thing I could think of here would be to use a custom compare value, create a custom field for computers, then for all HP's set this value to 1. Then create the custom compare value and configure it to look at the custom field you created (Although I am having problems getting this bit working at the moment see one of my other posts on Snow Globe). Then amend the metric on the product you are referring to and select custom compare value. In theory, I believe it is supposed to then base the compliance on the values it finds on the computers running the product. The other option, (not sure how you are currently using sites) would be to create a site maybe called HP and assign all of your HP devices to that site, then assign the licence to the HP site rather than the root of your organisation, that way any machines not in the HP site would not be covered by the licence and therefor would appear as non compliant. I am sure other people have other options for you as well, but I hope one of these will help.

Thanks, Mark, it does give me some other ideas. As this same situation applies for a bunch of different software, I have created a process of my own. I mark the application as 'no licence required', but then I have created a separate report, that I will run regularly, that will show me when specific applications are not on the right hardware pair. I started with the report 'Applications Per Computer', then added a filter 'application name = HP Software' and 'Computer Manufacturer ≠ HP'. I can use the group criteria option to run a report for a whole bunch of different scenarios at once, getting an uncompliant list to pair with the inbuilt compliance reports. Hopefully, this helps others.
