HELP! cost of installed applications in Computer
I have an application that is licensed by user.
If I go to the computer where the application is installed, in Total cost of installed applications (GBP) will include this app even if the metric is by user and not by installation?
As far as I've tried, it doesn't show the user price, unless I change the metric to installation. is there any other workaround?
Which report are you using or is your report based on?
Thank you
Jelle
The problem I'm experiencing is that if I have a product licnesed by User, for example Visio, and I keep the user metric, in Computers, when I look for my computer that belongs to the user that has Visio, in Financial Info --> Total cost of installed Application, the price is not update, unless I change the metric to installation.
I've also checked the information in All Computers report and is the same. I'd like to know if there is any other way to see the computer financial information updated with those products licenses by user or if it not possible. Thank you very much in advanced
Hi,
to be honest, this is exactly the behavior I expect.
With a user metric, the installation is somewhat "free of charge".
Some vendors treat this installations as demo installations, others as viewers.
Cost is only related to usage by a licensed user.
If it worked like you described, this could lead to very confusing situations.
For example, you have one license, but the 1 user works on 10 Computers in your environment. The total cost then would be 10 installations?
I don't think that is what I'd like to see.
Kind regards, Axel
