Linux agent - Handshake failed error

I have been testing Snow Linux agent and it is showing a 'Handshake failed - Unexpected server response. 500' error when attempting send its inventory....

handshake errorAny ideas? The server endpoint is fine and comms to it appears ok

Also similar to another question recently asked, what would be causing the other errors (e.g. could not read port, could not read system slot etc)?

Thanks

  • Is the end point a https or http address?

If https in your agents config is the <Setting key="http.ssl_verify" value="false" /> set to False?

As it may be the Linux box having ssl issues

What would be causing the other errors (e.g. could not read port, could not read system slot etc)? The agent is scanning everything that it has been allowed to scan , sometime some objects are not present or sometimes the Linux distribution does not expose this particular item when a scan is performed.

As for the 500 error. Is this global or limited to 1 agent? You may want to check the inventory server service to make sure it is running, you may even want to restart it. Check to see if you can reach the inventory server via a Curl or other communication options from the Linux server. Also make sure the firewall is open. If you are still having issues with this you can log a support ticket and support will help troubleshoot further.
