Assigning Exchange Server 2007 Standard Licensing

I have added our licenses for MS Exchange Server 2007 Standard i have manually tried to assign these to 4 servers which have exchange server 2007 installed. But they do not appear in the list when i try to search for them.

Any ideas?

Hi Ammar, What exactly do you mean with assign the license manually to 4 servers? The license matric for Exchange 2007 is based on Installations so whenever you add the license it should automatically cover the Microsoft Exchange 2007 standard installations. After you have added the application did you recalculate the compliance? If it doesn’t cover your Exchange installations, are you sure you have installed Microsoft Exchange 2007 standard and not another edition? Kind regards, Jeroen

  Hi Jeroen Sorry for the late reply. What i meant was i have 4 servers which are showing with Exhange server 2007 installed. Below is 1 example I have 4 Exchange server 2007 Standard licenses which I wanted to assign to cover these 4 servers. I manually assigned these in the license assignment tab butSnow has given me the error "No eligible application installed". Forgive my ignorance but wouldn't exchange server 2007 standard cover exchange server 2007? Thanks Ammar

    I'm pretty sure that Snow identifies Exchange Server based on exe-files but it requires a registry-value to determine which edition (Standard or Enterprise) it is. This is visible in SMACC if you look at the rules. If none of the registry-value based rules finds a match, it's just listed as Exchange Server without any edition. If you are unable to create rules to correctly identify the right edition and if you are confident that it's really Standard edition that is installed on all Exchange-servers, you could edit the downgrade-path on the Exchange Server 2007 Standard-application to include Exchange Server 2007. Or add a dummy-license for Exchange Server 2007. Regards, Björn
