Sorry for my english I'm French Canadian

HowTo prevent error 1706 for multi user system

All file is correctly install but when Advertising run to install HKCU this reinstall (or validate) from the source for all component

not juste the failed component

For multi user laptop and pc is not verry good

Why WI valide with source if file table containe good version and language ?

As you are probably aware, advertisment of the product does not copy all files to the local machine. This is why 1706, a failed request for source files, occurs. What may be an alternative is to copy the source files to a local directory. If you have built an install with a compressed setup.exe, you may want to look at the Cache Installation panel in the release wizard or in the releases view.

The easiest way i have found to remedy this problem is to use Installshield Tuner to build a transform file. This will allow you to specify other data sources. We currently deploy our apps using Active Directory and Group Policy and I must specify our 4 network distrobution points in the transform...after that nefer any problems.
