I was wondering if anyone had insight into how an agent scan gets information to determine if a computer is portable or not?

I've got a situation where I have a range of computers where the agent scan is giving us mixed results. Hardware is the same, build process is the same, snowagent.config files are the same, but scans vary is some reporting the computer as portable and others not.

We're currently on 6.5 agent. Snow Support have given us a newer agent to test but there's a lot of effort for us to roll this out so was wondering if anyone else had had this experience?
