What is <company> tag in xml schema? Can I assign a computer to particular organization using this <company> tag?

<xs:element name="company" type="xs:string" maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="0">

I can see this tag mentioned in xml schema provided by SNOW. Could anyone tell what exactly I can do with this element. Is this element useful when assigning a computer to a particular organization?

    Hi Riswan,

    this is a relic from our SnowInventory 3 and is no longer used.

    But it will be transferred to our snowInventory DB when you use it with xml import .. Please have a look on this table [SnowInventory].[inv].[DataClient]

    Our Agent will fill these with NULL

  • I get it. In this case, using which tag(<>) I can map a computer to a particular organization?

  • to my (limited) knowledge, this is not possible by a config option of the client. (And misusing the 'Site' option I would advice against).

    You may have a look at and possibly to set up 'autoconnect rules' in Smacc at the org-Nodes which can use some (but not all) information related to a client reporting in to Inventory.

    If I might be wrond an if anyone knows an agents config option to accomplish direct org-membership I an interestet in 'how to' as well.
