  • If it's scheduled to scan at 9AM and the device isn't on until 11AM, it'll scan as soon as the device turns on. It just won't scan earlier than 9AM.

    • Hey @Liam Stuart , So this means whenever the device turns on the agent will perform the scan? Also to be clear we dont have "scan at startup setting enabled" in our agent, so without this also it would work?

  • the agent will check its scheduled scan time, if this time has passed for the day and no scan has run, then a scan will run, but there will still be the randomisation time, so the can will not be 'instant'.

You can find more information about how the agent scans and about configuration in our documentation portal. for specifics on agent scanning click here

The way the documentation portal works is as follows: open the portal https://docs.snowsoftware.com/?lang=en select the module you have a question about, for instance Snow agents, part of Snow Inventory. Then use the search to type in you key words or use the menu on the left hand side.

The information is very comprehensive on all our modules.

    Kind regards,

    Jelle

  • I asked something similar a while back, specifically about the Mac agent (which is scheduled for 9am by default). The LaunchD scheduler that the agent uses appears to behave differently depending on whether the machine is switched off vs asleep.

    • Hello @Colin Hardie ,

I have gone through your post & about launchD , what i have understood is that Mac agent would not run if it misses the scheduled time. Is this case could also be with Windows Agent?

      • No I don't believe so. The windows agent works entirely different to the Mac agent.

How does the snow agent scan if a computer is turned on after the scheduled scan time of Snow Agent. Suppose if the scheduled time is 9:00 AM and user login device at 11:00, Does this means agent will never be able to send the inventory
