Snowagent for MacOS not working properly?

Hi!

Just to explain our current system overview, here's the most relevant:

-We use Intune as MDM, it is connected with snow and data is retrieved correctly.

-We deploy applications for Windows, Android and MacOS using Intune and following the application format, not shell or PowerShell scripts independently. Because we can get benefit of more accurate reporting.

Recently I tried to deploy a .pkg installer for the snowagent in MacOS using Intune.

This installer is signed and contains the correct snowagent.config inherited, so when it's installed it adds the correct connection for snow console (at least I've checked the file after installing and seems to be correct..)

We already know that the reporting it will be failed from Intune, but that doesn't mean that the application can't be deployed and that's what we will take care of mostly.

(Because the agent is installed under /opt/snow and not /Applications)

There's a trick to do this and it's basically changing the "Install as managed field" to No:

The problem is after distributing the app to the computer, eventhough I can confirm that the /opt/snow folder is created and the files are correct.. the computer does not appear in the snow console. (Already waited about 3 days)

Could it be because our snowagent.pkg is wrong?

Thanks for posting your question on Snow Globe. I’ve reviewed it for you but from my experience I am not sure that we will be able to successfully help you via Snow Globe because I believe we will need to review diagnostics or setup. If you have a direct contract with Snow Support have you contacted them to raise a support case? If you have not done so already you can do this directly via the Snow Globe Support Portal here and the Support team will be in contact.

  • Hi @Jason Razor!

Yes, since we were quite in a rush, after 3-4 days of posting here I reported the case to Snow support and its now resolved.

Seems that macOS devices were already existing in the console but I did not have access to list them.

    All sorted now ;)
