Where does Inventory Agent for Windows 6.3 get its Operating System version information?
We have a Windows server that has been upgraded from Win Server 2008 to Win Server 2012, but it is still reporting in to Inventory as 2008. I'd like to know where the Inventory Agent gets that information. From a Registry query?

The OS name is read from the wmi repository.
Other OS attributes come partly from the registry
