Upgrade Snow Integration Manager

I am looking to upgrade SIM to the latest version. The guidance I have seen mentions to uninstall the previous version first. Is there a way to backup the connexctors I currently have installed and then restore the config to the upgraded version. I really don't want to have to setup the connectors again

Hi Paul, With the latest release 5.8, there is no need to uninstall the previous version yourself. The installation will do that for you and the settings will be kept. To make sure you can always make a backup of the settings, to do so, please do the following. 1. Open Regedit 2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Snow Software\Inventory Provider 3. Right click on the folder "Inventory Provider" 4. Click Export 5. Choose a location to save the registry export. 6. Install the new version of SIM 5.8 I hope this helps.     Hey Alex, with the latest version of the SIM you also have the possibility to find out the current version via the small button "About" in the bottom left corner. In the old version you could see the version in the details of the .exe of the SIM. Best regards Mathias

To add to this string and confirm, you just need to run the setup file. It will upgrade the SIM version. Even though I do backup as mentioned above. I have never lost a connector setting or had anything break with the SIM upgrades. Be aware that it sometimes takes a few days for all end point to show as upgraded if you have a lot of connectors. I have about 20 VMWare, an SCCM, XenServer, and several cloud connectors. Sometimes takes a week or so for all to reflect the new version, but they'll get it.
