Snow Inventory Master Server Default Page

Hi All,

We have installed Snow Inventory Master Server. Need to confirm regarding default web page which can be displayed once we access http://<Snow Inventory Master Server IP>:80/. We need default page displaying, This is a master server instance.

How that can be configured?

    If you are thinking about Bindings, it can be done during Master Server installation: Regarding certificates, you will not be able to change these settings after Master Server installation. So, if you want to change them, you should remove the existing Master and perform new clear configuration. Regards, Viktors

    Hi ?, the Snow Inventory configuration file is located in: C:\Program Files\Snow Software\Snow Inventory\Server\snowserver.config This is an XML file that you can edit to modify the server settings. After you have modified the file you need to restart the Inventory service. Is this what you're looking for?

      Hi Marco, I am looking for once any user access the URL http://<IP  of Snow Inventory Master Server>:80/ the web page must be displayed saying "This is a master server instance"

      Yes, exactly.I can do that in IIS but from where I can get the web page.

        Snow Inventory doesn't use IIS, it has an internal web service. So I don't know if you can change the deafult web page.

        Hi, why would you want to change the content of a page, that only functions as a test page in case of troubleshooting? Do you have any use case or reason for us? /marcel

          Hi Marcel, It is just like we have created a DNS record for Snow Inventory Master Server, which we will write in the snow agent file so that target reports to the Snow Inventory Master Server. We want in case anyone launches that URL in the browser, it should show what it is.So, I have seen people implementing the static web page saying This is the master server instance. Just eager to know the steps, as such there is no use case or sold requirements

            This is a default message when you browse to this URL (if Master Server service running).
