Office 365 Last Data Import Question
How often does the the data for Office 365 update? In the bottom right corner of my Office 365 Snow Page I see " Last data import 17/11/2017 at 08:03:41 " which happens to be right around the same day I configured it. Is there anyway to force this data update to see if it pulls the User Data in? Also I am curious did your Connector Configuration for Office 365 show the customer as Demo? Thanks, Nick

  • , Can you look at your Office365Service Log Folder and see if you are getting error messages in regards to the UserActivityRepository or is showing Success? I am working with the SNOW Support team and I am wondering if the 'DisplayName' column on the database needs to be changed or if everyone gets this error.  2017-12-18 12:29:36,212 [4] ERROR SnowSoftware.LicenseManager.Office365.Data.Repositories.EntityFramework.EfUserActivityRepository [()] - System.InvalidOperationException: Column 'DisplayName' does not allow DB.Value. Thanks in Advance! -Nick

  • Thanks Mark. I got the Powershell error resolved yesterday and followed the logs where it was pulling in data for our Office 365 users. Even re-ran the Update Job and still shows the 11/17 date. I have added that info to the currently open ticket. Hopefully they have some ideas.

Hi Nick, Yep, mine shows as DEMO as well, so I guess that is fairly standard. You can force the run of a SIM rule at any time, by highlighting the rule and clicking on the Aggregate Selected button, this will force it to run now. To get it to run regularly, highlight the rule and click on the Schedule button, this will allow you to define how often you want the connector to run. Please remember, for most connectors you wont see the results in Snow License Manager until after the data update job has run (You can force this to run from SMACC if you need to, but remember it will take Snow down while it runs) Hope that's helps. Mark.

    • I actually have it scheduled and forced the aggregate last night.

OK, so next stage would be to check the logs to see if any error have been reported. Program Files\Snow Software\Logs\Snow Integration Manager
        • I have an open ticket right now with SNOW Support about the Powershell GetCSUserdata Error. But the job completes so I didn't expect that to not show updated info in the portal since it does gather some info.

OK Nick, sorry if I have been teaching you to suck eggs, looks like you already know your way around, but from your original question that wasn't clear so I think this needs logging with support as well, Looking at my system I can see the date has not been updated either (It is showing October), and I know for a fact the data is being imported.  As you already have a support call open, I would suggest to either add this info to that case, or open a new one.  I will also log a call for my system. Mark.

Hi Mark and Nick, Apologies that we did not catch this post earlier! There was an issue with the date not updating despite a successful import that was resolved in our 8.2.4 release of SLM. If you are still experience this after the update please contact support and we will jump on it. Also as a FYI in general the Office 365 connector import is not dependent on then also running the Data Update Job. You should see new data from the portal once the import has finished being processed. The only exception is if you are trying to link Office 365 users to existing SLM users based on the AD user discovery data in Snow Inventory for the first time (we won't be able to link the users using that method until the data comes in from Inventory). Many thanks, Tom.
