Steps for migrating to Version 5 of Snow Agent

Hi Mark, There are a number of changes between Snow Inventory 3.2 and Snow Inventory 5. As such, there are a number of considerations, 1) Snow Inventory Clients for version 5 can only be provided and used, when they are reporting into an infrastructure which has Snow Inventory 5 installed. Snow Inventory Clients for Inventory 5 will not report into a Snow Inventory 3.2 installation. 2) All of the necessary changes required, to get this version of the client to work, will be made by your technical delivery engineer as part of the installation process. 3) I know you've been a customer for a while. 3.7.x versions of the client will continue to work and report into Snow Inventory 5, whilst the process of deploying the Snow Inventory Client 5 onto your machines continues. However, any older versions (3.6 and earlier) will not report in, once upgraded. When considering the process of deployment, there will be a handover during install. Your technical delivery engineer will be able to take you through the process of deployment, using the Snow Inventory 5 application itself. You can use the usual suspects of GPO, SCCM or your chosen method of MSI deployment, in order to deploy the client using deployment tools.
