Flexera ITAM SKU Library Update – December Release

We’re excited to share an important update regarding the ITAM SKU library as part of our December release.

What’s Changing?

• The PURL.cab file which contains the consolidated SKU catalog and its metadata, has reached its threshold to be delivered as a single package.

• To ensure smooth delivery and continued access to all SKU content, we’ve split the file into two parts: PURL.cab and PURL2.cab

• Both files carry the same SKU version, so there is no impact on accuracy, consistency and SKU linking to its relevant applications and license templates.

• This change does NOT affect any other vendor-specific Product Use Rights Libraries (PURL) cab files. Ex: PURL-Adobe.cab

• Customers are expected to download and reconcile two individual files, PURL.cab and PURL2.cab to access the complete SKU library.
  • For cloud customers, all cab files will continue to be reconciled automatically following the regular schedule.
  • On-premise customers are expected to download two specific files. Below reference screenshot from Product and License Center (PLC)

• All regular locations like Product and License Center (PLC), FTP/SFTP, Managesoft URLs, selected customer’s private locations will continue to receive latest version of SKU library according to our release schedule.

• Following our regular monthly release cadence, onpremise customers will receive the latest SKU build on 19th Dec 2025 and cloud customers will receive it on 22nd Dec 2025.

• After successful reconciliation, the updated version can be verified in the UI, which will be displayed as <CurrentVersion>_<CurrentVersion> template. Reference screenshot below -

2025 R1 Release for FlexNet Manager Suite (FNMS)

We’re excited to announce our FlexNet Manager Suite 2025 R1 release. It is now available for download from the Product and License Center in the Flexera Community.

Release Highlights

• Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) VM inventory collection: FlexNet Manager Suite now supports the discovery and inventory of Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV), allowing the identification and collection of VM-Host and Host-Cluster relationships hosted on Nutanix servers managed by Nutanix.
• New Microsoft 365 GCC High Adapter for US Government customers: The new Microsoft 365 GCC High Adapter is provided to allow US Government customers to import data to FlexNet Manager Suite from Microsoft 365 / Microsoft Azure Government environments. The data collected will be used to calculate license consumption, and gives US Government customers visibility of their Microsoft 365 estate.
• Accessibility Improvements: Accessibility enhancements have been made to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 standards. The updates include both visible and behind-the-scenes changes to the FlexNet Manager Suite user interface in the browser for Responsive Layout, Consistent Navigation Concept, Enhanced Keyboard Usability, WCAG-Compliant Contrast, and Improved Screen Reader Support.
• CyberArk support for managing third party inventory adapters: This enhancement addresses STIG compliance, allowing government customers to leverage CyberArk for credential handling across domains and to provide secure integration for third party inventory adapters in FlexNet Manager Suite.
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) adapter can detect running instances: The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) adapter has been enhanced to enable the extraction of running instances from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and their import into FlexNet Manager Suite. This update builds on the previous functionality for extracting Autonomous Database Instances.
• Support for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as a default cloud service provider detected by inventory agents: OCI is detected as a default CSP to ensure comprehensive inventory management across all major cloud service providers.
• Licence key management and usability enhancement: This enhancement introduces several UI improvements that simplify license key management and assignment to users and devices including bulk import via csv files or Business Adapter Studio.
• New columns showing the total number of virtual machines (VMs) with operating system variant added to the Cluster reporting object in Report Builder: The Report Builder has been further enhanced to report on the total number of virtual machines (VMs) with operating system variant (Windows, SUSE Linux, RHEL) for each host and its parent cluster, enabling more accurate license consumption calculations.
• VMware vSAN inventory now collected and recognized: Broadcom VMware vSAN is now collected and recognized as VMware inventory. The VMware Inventory page has been updated with the following new properties: Cluster name, Cluster Required vSAN Capacity (The total number of TiBs (Tebibytes) used by vSAN datastores in the cluster), and Host required vSAN capacity (TiBs).
• Enhanced Tanium adapter to support cloud properties: The Tanium adapter has been enhanced to support cloud properties. With this enhancement, users can bring in custom fields and usage data from Tanium, which will be normalized and made available in FlexNet Manager Suite.

This release comes together with a newer version of the FlexNet Inventory Agent and Inventory Beacon.

Changes of supported versions:

• Changes to Supported Microsoft SQL Versions: FlexNet Manager Suite will discontinue support for Microsoft SQL Server versions that have reached the end of Microsoft's mainstream support to leverage the enhanced features, performance optimization, bug fixes, and security updates available in newer, actively supported Microsoft SQL Server versions.
• Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 10 Requirement for New Security Features: As part of ongoing penetration testing and security enhancements, FlexNet Manager Suite has introduced new security features that are supported exclusively on IIS 10
• Changes to supported operating systems and compatibility with other products: Several operating system versions have been added to the list of supported operating systems on FlexNet Inventory Agent. More product versions have been added to the compatibility list of FlexNet Manager Suite with other products.

Feature By Release for FlexNet Manager Suite 2025 R1

An update package has been released for FlexNet Manager Suite (FNMS) version 2024 R1 and is available in the Product License Center (PLC) .

This update resolves the following issues:

• IOK-1156511: Tabs and text on properties and grid pages in the web UI may float over parts of the page when scrolling
• IOK-1157150: Red error bar message may appear on Rule Settings page with error in webui.log due to problem in combobox keyboard event handling: "Cannot read properties of null (reading 'addEventListener')"

FlexNet Manager Suite On-Premises 2024 R1 Release Announcement

We are pleased to announce that the 2024 R1 on-premises version of FlexNet Manager Suite will be available this week. This article highlights the new features, enhancements, and includes links to further documentation.

New Features

View software SKUs with the new SKU Browser

• The SKU Browser displays any software SKU recognized and populated in the FlexNet Manager Suite SKU library.
• You can enter a SKU number, browse publishers, applications, and their extended descriptions, or search by publisher and product to view a list of SKUs.
• This feature helps reduce time and effort when creating purchase orders.

OpenShift: Enhanced Kubernetes Agent for Red Hat OpenShift

• The Kubernetes Inventory Agent now recognizes worker node inventory for Red Hat OpenShift clusters, collecting data for the worker node where the Kubernetes container is deployed.
• This enhancement is supported by both the Standard Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent and the Lightweight Kubernetes Inventory Agent.
• Installer evidence will be updated accordingly each time inventory is collected.

Recognition of KubeVirt Virtual Machines

• The Kubernetes Inventory Agent now recognizes KubeVirt virtual machines installed on worker nodes in a Kubernetes cluster.
• KubeVirt allows running traditional virtual machine workloads alongside container workloads. The agent now collects inventory data for KubeVirt VMs as well.

Support for Deployment of Helm Chart Templates

• The Flexera Kubernetes Inventory Agent now supports out-of-the-box Helm chart templates, accelerating deployment to Kubernetes clusters.

IBM Cloud Pak: New IBM Licensing Capabilities for Containers

• FlexNet Manager Suite now supports two new IBM license metric types: Resource Unit (RU) and Managed Virtual Server (MVS).
• These metrics are available for IBM Cloud Pak for Network Automation, Watson AIOps, and Security, with consumption information collected daily by the Kubernetes agents.

Microsoft Intune Adapter Now Supports macOS

• The Microsoft Intune Adapter now supports the collection of macOS device information, which is imported into FlexNet Manager Suite to provide visibility of macOS managed devices.

Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Verification Data Collection

• The FlexNet Inventory Agent can now import Oracle EBS data into the Oracle GLAS evidence archive, which helps verify compliance in an Oracle audit.
• The collection of Oracle EBS data is disabled by default but can be enabled through a new setting.

Enhancements

VMware Inventory Page: New Columns Added

• The VMware Inventory page lists VMware vSphere and vCenter inventory detected in your organization.
• Four new columns have been added to align with recent VMware licensing changes, providing better insights into the new core-based subscription licensing model.

A security hotfix has been released for FlexNet Manager Suite (FNMS) version 2023 R1 and is available in the Product License Center (PLC) .

Name: 2023 R1 On-Premise Hotfix 2

This hotfix contains updated binaries which are to be installed on the FNMS Presentation Server (or application server if using a single-server deployment). To install the hotfix please follow instructions in the ReadMe.txt of the download package. 

This hotfix resolves the following security-related issues:

• IOK-1072870 - CSV Injection (Reports > License Compliance > IBM PVU License Consumption)
