Hi - we are trying to setup Snow integration manager(SIM) with Servicenow to push CMDB data. I'm struggeling to understand where to set the OAUTH client ID and Secret in the Snow SIM configuration?
I have the base service account and the OAUTH credeitnals details but not sure where to pipe those in the connector.
Hello Eladfe,
Which user guide are you following?
If you are using SIM and pushing data from Snow to ServiceNow. Use this guide.
https://docs.snowsoftware.io/other-snow-products/itsm-enhancer/servicenow-connector/
If you are trying to retrieve information about subscriptions, users, and user activity. You cannot use the SIM for this. You must add this in Snow Atlas Settings > SaaS settings > SaaS connectors.
Here is the guide for Snow Atlas integration
https://docs.snowsoftware.io/snow-atlas/user-documentation/saas/saas-connectors/prepare-servicenow-connector/
Aaron.
Thanks Aaron - I did follow the guide in your link but it lacks the detail around OAUTH. From another support ticket, it seems like this is not avaialble and hopefully will be developed in early 2025 which is a bit of a shame as the customer does not agree to use basic auth for this integration. The guide also doesn't seem to mention which roles does the ServicNow account needs to have to fucntion.
Hi Eladfe,
I understand the security concern for the customer using basic auth.
Once the ServiceNow apps have been added 'Product and Service Catalog Update' and 'CMDB Integration'
2 roles will be visible in the roles list 'x_snsab_snow_catal.snw' and 'x_snsab_snow_sam_i.snw'
Aaron.
