joshua_neadow asked a question.
Good morning,
With Crowdstrikes auto-upgrade feature, it seems to not update the linux RPM package version attached to it. When we run the version command on linux boxes for the the falconSensor we get back the right version, but querying the RPM gives us a lesser version. Has anyone run into this issue? We have inquired with Vendor support and have been advised that they need to update the RPM version number as that is what is relied on for version identification by the FNMS agent. The weird part is BMC Discovery is seeing the same Version we see. This only seems to be affect our Linux Servers/Agents.
/opt/CrowdStrike/falconctl -g --version returns 7.14
rpm -qa | egrep -i falcon returns falcon-sensor-6.58.0-15508.el7.x86_64
For reference, there is now an idea on the Flexera Ideas site related to adding some specialized capability in this area:
SS-I-376: Enhance the FlexNet Agent to read the Crowdstrike Falcon Sensor Version
If this capability is of interest to you, please vote for it to help the Flexera Product Managers assess the level of interest there is in having it implemented.
