Devices not entering in SLM
Hello Snowers! I've noticed around 1k devices that are stuck in SMACC and do not show in SLM (Version 8.3 Revision 09 Build 7082) Any idea how I could check the reason behind it? In past we suffered similar issue because of lack of SLM licenses, but that's not the case now. Thanks!

  • Hi Goncalo,  Usually the light-gray entries are represented by computers where the snow inventory agent has made a handshake with the server, but not sent a complete scan result yet.  Oddly enough  your example image shows data coming from the big fix connector, and no SIM connector does these kinds of handshakes, only the snow inventory agents does.  Technically, these computers probably have an entry in the table inv.AgentManifest ,( where we store meta data that agents send when doing a server handshake) but no entry in the table inv.DataClientView2 .  ( where we store the computer data once we get the full computer scan, but no data would be written to this table if the license limit are met.) Is it possible that these entries are residue from the time when you had license issues?  Or do they come back if you delete them?

    • I dont think is related with the license since this report was already empty after having new Snow licenses. I've deleted some entries (can't delete all because I get the error "The wait operation timed out) just to check if tomorrow the current number increases or remains the same. Thanks.
      • Hi Gonçalo, Your screenshot shows that those devices come from a connector (IBM BigFix) so it could be that they actually do not have an agent. You would be able to find out. Otherwise, it could be that for some obscure reason, the connector interferes with the scan from the agent or that those computers cannot see the Inventory Server, or they cannot see the gateway, or the gateway cannot send data to the primary Inventory server.
