Snow Inventory Agent deployment via SMACC stuck

I deployed the Snow Inventory Agent to a device via the Snow Management and Configuration Center, but the deployment is just in pending for the last view hours, even though the device is online and pingable / reachable. Please does anyone know what logs I need to look at to troubleshoot this. Thanks

  • the update should occur when the agent makes contact with the inventory server via a heartbeat or sending an inventory file. Check the snowagent.log file on the computer where the agent that you are trying to upgrade to see what's happening. Change the log level of the snowagent.config file to verbose and restart the service to ensure you get as much info as possible.

  • As there is no agent deployed when you try to roll out the agent, there is no aktive component on the client computer that can connect to the Snow Server. Due to this, a roll out is pretty much a gamble.

When will the server connect to the client?

Will the firewall allow remote procedure calls?

Is the account a local admin on the client?

As in the other post there was SCCM mentioned, it is strongly recommended to use the established deployment method for software.
