OMO per instance or per DB?

Hello!

Have a question regarding OMO licenses counting. How Snow counts these licenses - per database or per instance?

For example, in the RAC case, we can use 1 database from multiple instances. Will OMO license be counted for this 1 database or for each instance in RAC?

Regards,

Viktors

Hi Viktors, The OMO License is based upon each instance and all instances of a Database would need to be licensed with a OMO Key to report in SLM. Having sufficient OMO keys will ensure you can report on all your Oracle Databases in Snow regardless of their environment. as said previously if in doubt contact your Account Manager. Dont however, get this confused with your Oracle Licensing though as this is based upon Named User Plus or Factored Processor Cores in the Main, and different rules apply for different situations and possibly environments depending upon you Oracle agreement. • Hello Jonas! Thank you for your reply. So in our case, I need to license each instance included in RAC? If we have 1 DB on 5 instances, we will need 5 OMO licenses? But in reality, an agent will be installed on the server, where DB is running? Is it correct? Regards, Viktors
      • I'm not sure - you need to check with your account manager... Please ask them to double check how it is licensed though, since this is obviously a tricky question
