  3. Adobe Creative Cloud Single App License Use Rights Refresh and Application Alignment Update

    Overview

Flexera is updating Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) Single App license use rights and entitlement mappings to align with Adobe's current licensing structure and supported Single App product portfolio. Adobe has discontinued, retired, or no longer supports several applications that were historically associated with Creative Cloud Single App entitlements. Flexera is refreshing its content to reflect Adobe's current licensing model and supported offerings.

Why are these updates being made ?

To ensure accurate license consumption, entitlement mappings, compliance calculations, and licensing recommendations and our data is aligned with vendor literature and current support models.

Adobe Creative Cloud Single App subscriptions are intended to license a single eligible Creative Cloud application from Adobe's supported Single App product lineup. As Adobe has evolved its product portfolio, several applications have been retired, discontinued, or are no longer available as eligible standalone Single App subscriptions.

    What is changing?

The following applications will be removed from Adobe CC Single App license use rights because they are no longer supported, discontinued by Adobe, or are not eligible standalone Adobe Creative Cloud Single App subscriptions:

    • Adobe Aero - End of support announced by Adobe
    • Adobe Fireworks - Discontinued by Adobe
    • Adobe Flash Builder - Discontinued by Adobe
    • Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 Premium - Discontinued by Adobe
    • Adobe Muse - Discontinued by Adobe
    • Adobe Prelude - Discontinued by Adobe
    • Adobe Scout - Discontinued by Adobe
    • Adobe Story - Discontinued by Adobe
    • Adobe Media Encoder - Not licensed as a standalone Adobe CC Single App offering and available only as a companion application

    Vendor References

Customers can review Adobe's published information for these changes:

Following this update, Adobe CC Single App license use rights will include only the applications currently offered by Adobe as supported Single App subscriptions:

    ·       Adobe After Effects

    ·       Adobe Animate

    ·       Adobe Audition

    ·       Adobe Dimension

    ·       Adobe Dreamweaver

    ·       Adobe Express

    ·       Adobe Fresco (iPad and Windows)

    ·       Adobe Illustrator

    ·       Adobe InCopy

    ·       Adobe InDesign

    ·       Adobe Lightroom Classic

    ·       Adobe Photoshop

    ·       Adobe Premiere Pro

    ·       Adobe Premiere Rush

    ·       Adobe XD

    Scope

This update affects license use rights and entitlement mappings only. It does not impact:

    • Software inventory collection
    • Application recognition
    • Evidence collection
    • Software installation discovery

The update only changes how Adobe CC Single App entitlements are mapped and consumed within Flexera's licensing calculations.

    Customer Impact & Recommended Actions

Customers currently using Adobe CC Single App licenses may observe changes to their license positions if any of the removed applications are currently consuming Adobe CC Single App entitlements.

    As a result:

    • License consumption calculations may change.
    • Compliance positions may be recalculated.
    • Recommended License Changes (RLCs) may be generated.
    • Previously mapped consumption for the removed applications may no longer be covered by Adobe CC Single App license rights.

After the update is released, customers should:

    1. Review any Recommended License Changes (RLCs) generated for Adobe Creative Cloud Single App licenses.
    2. Identify installations of the affected applications within their environment.
    3. Validate entitlement coverage against their Adobe subscription agreements and license documentation.
    4. Update license allocations or remediation plans as appropriate for their licensing position.

Customers who do not use any of the affected applications are not expected to require any action.

    Release Information

These updates are scheduled for release as part of the SKU, PURL and Bundles (SPB) release on August 28, 2026 and will be available to customers beginning August 31, 2026.

Please raise a support case in case of any queries.

  6. Microsoft SQL Server Database Engine Name Update

    Overview

To improve catalog consistency and alignment with Microsoft terminology, upcoming content updates will rename Microsoft SQL Server Database Engine Services to Database Engine.

This update aligns the catalog naming with Microsoft's product terminology and ensures consistent representation of the component across our content sources.

    What's Changing?

imageThe change applies only to the displayed product/component and not to any other SQL Server components. All the existing application’s meta data, evidence linking will be retained as is.

Why Are We Making This Change?

Microsoft documentation and installation workflows refer to the core SQL Server component as the Database Engine. While the installation process may refer to an "Engine Service”, the underlying SQL Server component is the Database Engine.

This update aligns our catalog content with Microsoft's terminology and provides greater consistency across product identification and reporting.

    What Is Not Changing?

This is a naming alignment only. The update will not impact:

    • Product recognition results
    • Inventory collection
    • Software discovery processes
    • Licensing calculations
    • Product relationships
    • Product identifiers
    • Existing installations or deployments

Systems currently recognizing evidence associated with SQL Server Database Engine Services will continue to recognize the same component after the naming update.

    Customer Action

No action is required for most customers.

Customers who reference SQL Server Database Engine Services in custom reports, dashboards, integrations, exports, or automated workflows should review and update those references after the release.

    Release Timing & Queries

This change will be included in the ARL release scheduled for 21st August 2026.

Please raise a support case with details, in case of any further queries.
