Community Voices_Jonathan Joaquin_1200x627 (2)Tell us about you and what you do

Hi, I'm Jonathan Joaquin @jjoaquin , a Senior Application Consultant at Grundfos based in the Philippines. I have more than 10 years of IT experience across technical support, IT service management, IT asset management, and application administration. Today, I primarily support and enhance our Flexera One and ServiceNow platforms, helping ensure accurate IT asset visibility, software compliance, automation, and integration across our global organization. I work closely with stakeholders from ASIA, EMEA, and the AMERICAS to improve processes, troubleshoot issues, and deliver scalable solutions.

What Flexera products do you work with the most / what topics do you get asked about the most?

I primarily work with Flexera One IT Asset Management, including:

  • IT Visibility
  • SaaS Management
  • Flexera One Inventory
  • Beacons and Inventory Agents
  • ServiceNow integrations and data synchronization

The topics I get asked about most often include:

  • Inventory collection and troubleshooting
  • Beacon and agent upgrades
  • Data normalization and asset reconciliation
  • Software license compliance reporting
  • Best practices for inventory coverage and data quality

A significant portion of my work involves helping teams understand why inventory data may not be appearing as expected and escalating to vendor to support any error or feature found to be not working properly as expected.

Are there any recent professional or personal highlights you're comfortable sharing?

One professional highlight I'm particularly proud of was co-leading our migration project from Flexera FlexNet Manager Suite (FNMS) to Flexera One. The transition involved careful planning, stakeholder coordination, data validation, integration reviews, and ensuring business continuity throughout the migration process.

Working alongside cross-functional teams across multiple regions, I helped support the migration effort from assessment and preparation through implementation and post-migration stabilization. It was a rewarding experience that strengthened collaboration between IT, asset management, and business stakeholders while helping the organization take advantage of the capabilities offered by Flexera One.

On a personal level, balancing a global role while supporting my family has taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of maintaining a positive mindset when navigating challenges.

My pro tip is…

My biggest recommendation is: Focus on data quality before reporting. Many reporting or compliance issues can often be traced back to inventory coverage, discovery configurations, normalization, or reconciliation gaps. Before creating dashboards or reports, make sure your inventory sources, beacon connections, and agent deployments are healthy.

I also highly recommend regularly reviewing the Flexera community articles, product documentation, and release notes. Many common issues have already been documented, and staying current with new features can save a significant amount of troubleshooting time.

Word on the street… industry trends I am keeping an eye on and why

I'm closely watching three trends:

Greater Integration Across Enterprise Systems

Organizations are increasingly connecting their business applications to create seamless end-to-end processes. As someone who works with multiple platforms, I'm interested in how integrations can improve data consistency, reduce duplicate work, and provide a better experience for both support teams and end users.

Growth of Low-Code and No-Code Solutions

More organizations are empowering business users to build applications and workflows with minimal coding. This trend can accelerate delivery, but it also highlights the importance of governance, standards, and platform support to ensure solutions remain scalable and maintainable.

Continued Adoption of Cloud-Based Platforms

Organizations continue to move toward SaaS and cloud-based solutions for greater flexibility and faster innovation. This creates opportunities to modernize processes while also introducing new challenges around integration, governance, and change management.

I just want to say that I enjoy being part of a community that shares knowledge and helps one another solve challenges. Technology is constantly evolving, and continuous learning has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
