Official release of FlexNet Inventory Agent 26.4.0

We are pleased to announce the release of the FlexNet Inventory Agent 26.4.0.

Release Date: EU/AP: 2026-10-05, NA: 2026-10-12

This release includes:

  • Web metering module metadata
  • FlexNet Inventory Agent Oracle inventory performance improvements
  • Immediate upload of web metering data
  • Fix for KRM agent and HELM chart deployment failures in OpenShift environments
  • Fix for inventory settings download logic
  • Fix for Unix software process scan preference name
  • Fix for duplicate Unix process inventory records
  • Fix for Usage Agent termination on Unix-like systems
  • Bundled software version updated

Customer Impact:

  • Previously, the web metering module executable lacked descriptive metadata. Now, the webmetering.exe file includes version information, file descriptions, and copyright details. This enhancement provides better visibility and identification of the module for administrators and system tools.
  • Previously, Oracle component scanning could consume excessive system resources, leading to long execution times or potential system instability in large environments. Now, the scanning workflow has been optimized to reduce memory and CPU utilization. This enhancement provides faster inventory results and improved host stability during Oracle discovery.
  • Previously, web metering data files were saved locally and only processed during the scheduled "Upload client files" task, which could lead to file accumulation if the schedule fell outside working hours. Now, the web metering module triggers an upload immediately after a data file is generated. This enhancement provides more timely data availability and prevents the buildup of unsent files on the device.
  • Previously, the removal of an OpenShift extension prevented the Flexera Kubernetes Agent from running as a root user, causing deployment failures in OpenShift environments. This release resolves this issue.
  • Previously, there was an issue where the agent would always download the InventorySettings.xml file regardless of whether it had changed. This release resolves this issue.
  • Previously, there was an issue where the preference PerformUnixSoftwareProcessScan was mislabeled as PerformUnixSwProcessScan in the command line options, causing the agent to miss some file evidence. This release resolves this issue.
  • Previously, there was an issue where Unix process inventory data could include inconsistent property details, leading to duplicate records when the same executable was discovered through both file system scanning and process detection. This release resolves this issue.
  • Previously, there was an issue where the Usage Agent could unexpectedly terminate on Unix-like operating systems while reading configuration settings. This release resolves this issue.
  • The OpenSSL, Expat, libcurl, containerd, grpc and Go third party libraries bundled with the agent have been updated in this release to address security vulnerabilities.
