I have implemented it in my organisation and have created a handful of integrations. First of all it is an improvement to FSM in terms of the insights it can provide and for integrations you need where there are no out-of-the-box connectors, the universal connector is built into FOSM, which essentially replaces the Data Ingestion Utility, which was a standalone application in FSM. As I mentioned above, the insights are a good feature and can help you to understand potential cost savings. We did however discover a number of issues. FOSM is linked to ITAM, so subscriptions etc collected by FOSM are imported into ITAM and visible in All Licenses. We have observed multiple licenses in ITAM with the incorrect license types associated, lots of licenses reporting alerts that no applications are linked, and in some instances, applications linked to the incorrect licenses. We have also observed in FOSM that some activity data is not being collected despite activity data being reported in the M365 Admin Center for a specific subscription. We have a support case open for about 3 weeks.
