Spider supports LDAPS and LDAP signing policies. Follow the instructions below to set up a secure Active Directory connection using LDAP over SSL (LDAPS) and LDAP signing. 

NOTE: For initial setup, please refer to the “Set up Active Directory” section of the Spider User Manual section in Flexera’s documentation.

Instructions

  1. Log into Spider as an Administrator.
  2. Open SystemActive Directories.

  1. Click on the Active Directory name in blue below Login Context. FLEXTEST is used in the example below.

  1. In the Edit Active Directory menu, the LDAP entry can now be supplemented with the Secure LDAP Port 636 in the Top Level field. For example: enter LDAP://flextest.com:636. Then, click on Test in the menu.

The message "The connection to Active Directory could be established" confirms that the secure connection has been successfully established.
