Question:

Can the tool scan the server connections from on-premise to servers in the cloud. Such as Oracle cloud, Azure, IBM? Are there any limitations or its just based on the connectivity that exists between on-premise and different clouds?

Answer:

The platform tracks application dependency data through Netstat collection directly from the remote device's OS and/or the platform can also collect dependency data through packet capture.

The remote device must be inventoried at the OS level (Windows credentials or SSH credentials) to collect Netstat information. For this example, you can provide Windows/SSH credentials in the RN150 appliance and the appliance will collect application dependency data from the hosts onsite as well as the hosts in the cloud.

If SSH/Windows access is not permitted to devices in the cloud, the platform will still monitor connections from the server onsite. This will provide visibility into who the server onsite is communicating to, however the platform would not be able to monitor other connections from the server in the cloud except those sourced or destined to the server onsite.
