Microsoft is deprecating the legacy Azure EA APIs in Oct 2023. These APIs provide the Azure EA Cost and Usage details imported into Flexera Cloud Cost Optimization (CCO).
Starting in July 2023, Flexera is working with its Azure EA users to migrate to the new Azure EA Cost Management APIs. As part of this change, there are some enhancements:
- New CCO Azure EA Bill connect API - July 2023
- New CCO Azure EA Bill connect UI - Aug 2023
- Azure Amortization is used stead of Flexera calculated amortization for parity with the Azure portal
- Azure Savings Plans cost and usage - Sept 2023
- Azure Enrollment Account Scope to support granular billing data - Sept 2023
To prepare for the upcoming change you will need to provide credentials to connect to the new Azure EA APIs.
The Azure Cost Management APIs use Azure Active Directory Authentication using Service Principals. The Service Principal would be taking the following fields to connect to Cost Management API to cloud cost optimization.
- Client ID
- Tenant ID
- Client Secret
- Billing Account ID
