Known Issue: "Invalid email format" error when editing account with an email address that has a top level domain longer than 7 characters (IOJ-2225655)

Symptoms

When attempting to save an account record in the web UI, the following error message is displayed if the top level domain in the account's email address is longer than 6 characters:

Invalid email format

Details

Here is an example of an email address which will cause this error to be displayed: joe@acme.abcdefg

On the other hand, the following email address will not result in this error: joe@abcdefg.acme

Workaround

There is no known workaround to avoid this error when editing account details in the UI.

Fix status

This issue is still open but not currently scheduled to be addressed.
