Known Issue: Test Connection button fails when configuring connection to AWS (IOJ-2219141)

Summary

The following error message is displayed after clicking the Test connection button when configuring an inventory connection of type "Amazon Web Services":

The value for 'Access Key' is not valid.

PowerShell method 'Test-Connection' failed.
Cannot process argument transformation on parameter 'accessKey'. Cannot convert the "<ACCESSKEY>" value of type "System.String" to type "System.Security.SecureString".

Workaround

Perform the following steps instead of using the Test connection button to verify the connection details:

1. Save the connection details without clicking the Test connection button
2. Run the import process
3. Check system status and/or import logs for an indication of any failure while connecting to Amazon Web Services (AWS).

This issue has been fixed in the following FlexNet Manager Suite releases: 2021 R1.2 / Nov 2021 (Cloud), 2022 R1 (On Premises)
