Summary

When adding or configuring a license server in FNMEA you may find that the 'Edit Options File' button is missing even if you have configured the options file correctly, this article covers the main reason as to why this may happen.

Question

Why is the 'Edit Options File' button missing in the FNMEA interface?

Answer

Resolution 1:

If you have found that your Options file has been configured correctly together with the vendor license file (ie using the appropriate paths and syntax) yet the button is still missing, if the vendor line in the vendor license file reads as 'DAEMON', try changing this to 'VENDOR'. Please ensure you backup your vendor license file before making any changes, once the changes has been made, perform a re-read through the FNMEA interface.

An example of the issue has been attached to this article.

Resolution 2:

1. The vendor line in the license file should be in this format
Vendor <vendor_name> "<vendor_name_exe_path>" Options="<options_file_path>"
VENDOR SW_D "C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS\licenses\SW_D.exe" options="C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS\sw_d.opt"
2. Take a back up of config.properties file at <Agent_Install_dir>/conf
3. Stop the Agent service.
4. Edit Config.properties file at <Agent_Install_dir>/conf, search for the keyword "optionsFileModified", delete the lines with this keyword and save the file.
5. Start the Agent

Additional Information

For more information on how to use the correct OPTIONS line syntax please refer to the FNP License Administration Guide.
