Summary
This article applies only to customers who previously installed the FlexNet Manager Suite for ServiceNow integration app using an update set and now want to upgrade to a newer version.
Synopsis
The FlexNet Manager Suite ServiceNow integration app allows data exchange between ServiceNow and FlexNet Manager Suite. The instructions in this article provide details about how to upgrade the FlexNet Manager Suite for ServiceNow integration app using an update set.
Important! For first-time installation of the ServiceNow integration application or if you previously installed or updated your version of the integration application from the ServiceNow Store, do not use this article. Instead, install or upgrade the app using the ServiceNow Store.
Applying the Update Set
To apply an update set in order to upgrade to a newer version of the FlexNet Manager Suite ServiceNow integration application:
- Log into ServiceNow as a ServiceNow administrator.
- In the left-hand navigation bar, expand the System Update Sets group, and click Retrieved Update Sets. A list of registered updated sets is displayed.
- Below the list, click the Import Update Set from XML link.
- Under Step 1: Choose file to upload, click Step 1: Choose File... and navigate to the update set (XML file) that you want to apply. If this is a hotfix or update, the XML file is included with the hotfix or update package. If you are not applying an update set that is part general release, the latest update set is included in the the ServiceNow folder of the Adapter Tools for FlexNet Manager Suite.
- Click Upload.
- When your file finishes uploading, it displays in the list of Retrieved Update Sets with a State value of Loaded.
- Click the hyperlinked name of your update set.
- Below the properties, click Preview Update Set.
Note: You should backup any property sets (such as MID Server Name and Integration Properties) or customizations. You should choose Accept remote update set for all conflicts; and after the newer application is installed, reset the properties, and redo customizations.
You cannot commit the update set until you have previewed it and addressed any problems.
- When there are no more errors or conflicts remaining, click Commit Update Set.

- Run the following upgrade script:
- In ServiceNow, go to Advanced > Fix Scripts.
- Click the FlexNetManagerSuite_Upgrade job to open it.
- Click Run Fix Script to run the upgrade.
- Click Proceed. When the Fix Script is executed successfully, the upgrade is complete.
