How to redirect FNMEA to the new database servers (Admin, Reporting, Cognos)?

Answer:

Below are the steps to update the database fields in FNMEA admin and reporting servers.
1. Stop FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Admin.
• To stop Admin from the command line, navigate to the Admin installation location and then type the
command: flexnet stop.
• If you configured Admin to run as a Windows service, you can stop the service from the Windows Services pane.
Note: You must ensure that no java process is running for Admin.
2. Stop FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting.
• To stop Reporting from the command line, navigate to the Reporting installation location, then type the command: flexnet stop
• If you configured Reporting to run as a Windows service, you can stop the service from the Windows
Services pane.
Note: You must ensure that no java process is running for Reporting.
3. In Reporting command line, type the command: flexnet site. 
The Configurator window will then appear.
• Then click Next 4 times to advance to the fifth pane. Edit the following settings:
In the Datbase Server Host, Database Server Port, Database Name and FlexNet DB User fields, enter the corresponding database hostname, portnumber, database name and user name.
In the Flexnet DB Password field, enter and confirm the database password.
• Click Next through to the last pane, and then click Finish. When the Configurator window closes, the site directory is re-created.
4. In Admin command line, type the command: flexnet site
The Configurator window appears.
• Then click Next 4 times to advance to the fifth pane. Edit the settings:

In the Flexnet DB Password field, enter and confirm the database password.

5. Restart FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting.
• To start Reporting from the command line, navigate to the Reporting installation location, then type the
command: flexnet start
6. Restart FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Admin to make sure that all setting changes take effect.
• To start Admin from the command line, navigate to the Admin installation location, then type the
command: flexnet start

Below are the steps to update the cognos database.

1. Stop the IBM cognos service
2. 

a. for FNMEA version 15.7 and later Navigate to <Cognos_Home>\bin64 directory and Open Cogconfigw.exe
b. for FNMEA version 15.5 Open <Cognos_Home>\c10\bin\fnhccfg.bat
3. In the extreme left there is Explorer window. Under Data Access -> Content Manager, click Content Store. (Cognos_Configuration attached for your reference)
4. Edit the Database server with port number, User ID and Password, Database fields accordingly.
5. Right click on the Content Manager and click Test, to verify the connection.
6. Click on the Start button to start the cognos service
