Summary
Error when running lmnewlog
Symptoms
This error log is being observed while accessing lmnewlog.
C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\License10\bin> lmutil lmnewlog -c service.txt ARCGIS .\logs\test.jan2013

Server cannot switch log files, see debug log for further information
Server error: "-1"
There could be couple of reasons for this observation. Detailed below:
Cause
1.) When there is no log directory present in the present directory.
2.) When we don't have the write permissions under the sub directory level, including the current directory.
3.) When the destination drive is physically separate from the drive that hosts the vendor daemon, although it is mounted and appears as a local directory.
4.) Missing the options file from platform directory.
If so, then kindly add the following entry in license file for definning options file location:
SERVER this_host ANY
VENDOR ARCGIS OPTIONS="C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\License10.1\bin\ARCGIS.opt"
If the path has any space in it, then you need to provide it under the ?____?.
5.) The Report log (report.log) you are trying to create, ALREADY EXIST under that path.
Additional Information
You may find that the license server moves the report log to rlTemp and not directly to the FNM agent. For example the mathworks license manager by default runs as a non root user and so it does not have any RW access to rlTemp. Once you give world RW permission to rlTemp, the FNM agent is able to rotate the RL.
