Summary
This article discusses the enhancement request in FNMS-46305 to allow for filtering individual guests for inventory via vcenter
Symptoms
We are managing our ESX hosts and guests using vcenter. On the hosts are guest systems for different customers and it is not permitted to query all hosts/guests, they need to filter the queries by the internal customer.
The filter needs to be dynamic: When a vcenter inventory rule runs on a Beacon then only query guests where an agent based inventory is in the compliance database.
Resolution
An enhancement request for this functionality has been submitted to our Engineering team and can be tracked through reference FNMS-46305.
