Synopsis
Location for downloading the ARL has been changed after ECM 8.2
Discussion
As of ECM8.2, the default ARL download location has changed from
http://www.managesoft.com/support/Compliance/Recognition.cab
to
http://www.managesoft.com/support/Compliance/RecognitionAfter82.cab
The Recognition.cab file still exists, however cannot be imported into ECM8.2 or later.
If your core server does not have Internet access, you may have previously set up a registry key to import the software recognition data from a local URL. If this registry key refers to a Recognition.cab file, you will either need to change it to RecognitionAfter82.cab, or ensure that the local ARL cab file downloaded for your core server is renamed to Recognition.cab.
The registry key that stores the ARL download location is:
HKLM\Software\ManageSoft Corp\ManageSoft\Compliance\CurrentVersion\Recognition\RecognitionImportURL
bcp.exe
ARL 82 and later use a utility called bcp.exe to bulk copy data between sql server instance and a data file in a user-specified format.
bcp.exe is part of SQL Server Tools and will get installed by default. So please make sure you have SQL server tools installed in your core server machine,
so that you dont get any error of "file not found" for bcp.exe.
