  1. About Reconciliation In FNMS

In FNMS in that in production environment the reconciliation process typically concludes  between  8 to 9 AM in the morning. However , I would like to  complete this activity  before 8 AM.  What can I do to make this adjustment?

And why its taking too much time to reconcilied?

    Question with a best answer.

    Best Answer

    Hi @AditiA  ,

The duration of the reconcile usually depends on the amount of the data. Check the consistency of the reconcile on Daily basis and how long it takes to complete. Based on that you can adjust timing of Reconcile task in task manager so that it completes within your expected time.

  2. Beacon

    Hi,

Is there any documentation you could provide in terms of the limited number of inventories or assets on one beacon?

Is there such a limitation on beacon? or IIS? Let say for the number of assets or inventories it can handle.

    TIA,

    Hello @jjoaquin ,

The below Online Help article may be of some use:

    https://docs.flexera.com/fnms/EN/WebHelp/index.htmltopics/NumberOfInvBeacons.html

"For good performance, limit each beacon to about 10,000 devices that it will inventory directly or through the installed FlexNet inventory agent. (This limit does not apply to inventory collected from third-party systems.)

Manage this load by assigning individual subnets to each inventory beacon through the settings in the compliance browser."

However, this is more of a recommendation rather than a hard limit.

    • Hello,

currently we use IP Subnets and assign them to a beacon.

Can i accept 0.0.0.0/0 in my subnet table to accept everything?

Is it possible to accept any ip on any beacon without filter or may this result in problems?

I know it better to use subnets but it would save tickets, time etc..

  4. Users with Admin role unable to login into Suite

    Hi Forum,

Hope and and wish you all are healthy and staying safe.

We have a on-prem 2020R1 setup and have 2 admin accounts(1service account and 1 user) on the suite. Today when trying to access the suite we are unable to login and it says

    "Sign In Failure

Your account does not allow you to access FlexNet Manager Suite. Please contact your administrator to ensure that your account is correctly assigned to a role such as Operator or a View-only reports user"."Unexpected error Sorry, but something unpleasant has happened. Please let us know what you were trying to do so that we can fix the problem. We suggest starting again from the dashboard, or trying again later."

We have checked the dbo.ComplianceOperator and the 2 accounts are in enabled state and with interactive login enabled, but still unable to login into the suite with both the accounts. we don't have any other users available to check if they were able to login.

We have verified the application server IIS logs and see the url is having /Failure/norole at the end of the url.

Please suggest what can be done to further troubleshoot this issue and resolve this.

    Regards

    • Hello,

      i have the same issue:

Currently we cant login and get a "Sign-in failure" screen.

the user with admin rights is no longer available and knowledge is lost.

Is it possible to set or change a user directly in the user database?

Perhaps sso with ad is configured but as we are locked out we dont know how this was setup.

Is it possible with admin-rights on system with the sql-db to alter or better add a user?

  5. Was there a fault in the FNMS ARL fault last week update?

On 19 october 2026 we had an huge increase for SQL Std. (from 500 to 7000 cores) This morning the reading was back to 500.

I have the idea that the ARL had a wrong entry which causes the increase. Can any one confirm this?

  7. Managing Java reporting excess data from ARL update

Prior to November 2025, reporting for commercial installations of Java, using the Application Transparency Report (as recommended by Flexera), had been working well.

This is described in this best practices video: https://youtu.be/jMD_AijaBXw?si=pwQ3sMOJ3xt0Esoh&t=1872.

The ARL/SKU/PURL update of November 16, 2025 added a precedence rule that effectively inserts installer evidence into the Java platform application that previously were only using file evidence. Announcement here: https://community.flexera.com/s/feed/0D5PL00000glvjd0AA

Since this change, the number of rows returned when reporting on Java using the Application Transparency Report has basically doubled. Typically, for every installation of Java detected using file evidence, there is now a second line that is derived from the installer evidence via the suite recognition.

To eliminate this extra data from the Java reports you can run the report as you previously did, however once the report is displayed, add a filter to the Suite member application column and set the filter to Is blank. The report will now perform as it did, prior to the November 2025 change.

Note that Java recognition is based on file evidence, as this is the only reliable way to retrieve the accurate application build information needed to correctly identify the version of installed Java; and therefore to determine if the installation is commercial (requiring a license).

  3. Guidance on SSRS Reporting Architecture for FlexNet Manager Suite (FNMS)

    Hi Team,

We currently have an FNMS environment where the FNMS application/databases are hosted on separate servers, while our SSRS reporting services and reporting databases are hosted on a different server.

For management reporting, we currently retrieve data from the FNMS databases using multiple stored procedures and staging/reporting tables, and expose the results through SSRS reports.

Over time, we have started seeing some inconsistencies with the reporting data, and since there is limited documentation available for the existing implementation, we are considering restructuring the SSRS reporting solution.

We are planning to organize the reports into areas such as:

    1. Discovery – multiple reports/views related to inventory and discovery data
    2. Monitoring – multiple operational/monitoring reports
    3. Publisher – publisher/software-specific reports and views

We would like to understand the recommended approach for building an SSRS reporting solution around FNMS data, particularly around:

    • Recommended FNMS database views/tables or reporting interfaces for reporting purposes
    • Best practices for extracting FNMS data into a separate reporting database
    • Whether direct database queries, stored procedures, staging tables, or another supported approach is recommended
    • Any reference architecture, documentation, sample queries, or SSRS reporting examples available from Flexera

If anyone has implemented a similar FNMS + SSRS reporting architecture, any guidance or documentation would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Our security scanner (Prisma Compute) detected that the FNMS Docker Monitor component:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\ManageSoft\Container\fnms-docker-monitor.exe

is built with Go crypto/tls version 1.25.3, which is vulnerable to CVE‑2025‑68121.

Subject: Request updated FNMS Docker Monitor binary built with Go 1.25.7+ (CVE‑2025‑68121)

    Hello Team,

Our security scanner (Prisma Compute) detected that the FNMS Docker Monitor component:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\ManageSoft\Container\fnms-docker-monitor.exe

    is built with Go

    crypto/tls

version 1.25.3, which is vulnerable to CVE‑2025‑68121.

According to the Go project, the vulnerability is fixed only in:

    • Go 1.24.13
    • Go 1.25.7
    • Go 1.26.0‑rc.3

Can you please provide the latest FNMS Container Monitor / Inventory Agent installer or updated

    fnms-docker-monitor.exe

built with Go 1.25.7 or later, so we can apply the remediation?

  5. Copy use rights from one license to another? Is it possible?

    Hi everyone.

Is there a way to copy use rights from one license to another?

We have a license with tons of upgrade and downgrade rights like this one:

imageWe need to create another license with the same rights and then add some additional restrictions.

Any idea how to avoid doing it manually? Perhaps duplicate the original license and then change it's name and other properties?

    Some SQL query?

    Thanks in advance,

    Pawel

  6. Prevent docker monitoring service from installing using command line

Hi, how is it possible to disable docker monitoring from installing by default?

    I tried in setup.ini:

    CmdLine=/l*v "%TEMP%\FlexNet Inventory Agent.msi.log" REMOVE=docker

But that only made ALL custom installation options as disabled in GUI installation.

Also is there a complete reference somewhere for setup.ini where we would see all potential command line options?

  7. High CPU Usage on AIX Devices

I was just hoping to find so more solid information regarding this. I was able to find this information:

    IOJ-1927932 Agent, Inventory:

Invalid inventory directory exclusions using wildcards may cause high CPU usage and ndtrack process seg faults on UNIX-like operating systems

Please don't specify wildcard within the path set to configure include or exclude directory paths e.g. */oracle/*backup/

    From this article - https://docs.flexera.com/FlexNetManagerSuite2020R2/EN/Status/Issues/UnresolvedIssues.htm

But I was hoping to be able to go back to my team with some more solid information.

We currently have 3 AIX machines that are currently AIX 7.2.5.208 TL05. The team has had ongoing issues with these machines for the past few years and high CPU usage. But we haven't had any other teams reporting the same sort of issues with AIX machines.

They have increased all different specs to do with the machines but still face the same issues. With even more CPU/virtual hardware that gets added the more resource's ndtrack just ends up using.

Is there any solid explanation I can give the team besides " using wildcards may cause high CPU usage and ndtrack process seg faults on UNIX-like operating systems"
