We attempt to optimize the performance of workstations and for that need to minimize software using memory or network. Specifically when working from home. We have been looking into snowagent.exe and it seems it is running always when the workstation is up and running besides apparently multiple polling actions during the day. Please advise on tuning the Snowagent. We are using v. 6.6.0.0.
The agent only hooks into the event related to the creation/deletion of processes so not much you can do.
The daily scan (no need to run that more than once a day) is usually reasonably light for the system (unless you have demanding custom scripts running) and is quite short (<1min). It should be seamless for the user. The network usage is negligible (<100KB upload once a day, download would occur only for agent or config updates or a very small daily download if you use cloud metering plugins)
From our experience, the basic config does not require much optimization.
The windows agent has some throttling features I think, check the options in the documentation of all config file features on the KB.
