Hi,
I was looking to push out a couple of snowagent.config file changes via SMACC. I wanted initially to target a subset of machines (say 20-30) to test the change and make sure there is no adverse affect on clients.
Unfortunately the SMACC view editors filtering capabilities and columns that it exposes are somewhat limited. What I would ideally like to have done is provide a SQL-like IN statement e.g. WHERE Hostname IN (x,y,z.....). Short of using the Filter editor and manually adding lots of Equals e.g.Other tools I have used (e.g. Altiris) allow for very fine grain control target views (basically allowing raw SQL to create lists of exactly the machines your are interested in). Is there no way to do the same in Snow?
Thanks
Colin
Hi Colin,
It would be great to be able target a list of machines by adding them to a view, but sadly I've never seen any easy way to automate the view creation.
I raised an idea back in 2019 requesting the ability to CSV import a list of computers into a view but it has never gotten any traction. https://ideas.snowsoftware.com/ideas/IDEAS-I-695
In case you are interested the views are stored in the SnowInventory.inv.Filter SQL table.
Hope you get a better answer.
Tom
