Web UI Translation problem - activity names
Hi, Snow AP Server: Windows Server 2016, German Language Snow AP: latest Version Today I noticed something strange about the Snow AP translation at a customer's site. All activities and workflows were created and adapted for the customer using the standard English language. Afterwards the German language package was installed. We didn't update the translation for each workflow step! Only the value for english is used. If the translation is set to English, then all terms are displayed correctly. As soon I switch to the german translation, none of the display names is displayed, only a technical name.  I wasn't able to reproduce this behaviour at our test system (Windows Server 2016, ENG, latest Snow AP). I'm able to switch between ENG and GER withour loosing the description, the system is using the ENG translation as default when no german value is set. Thanks for your support.

  • Hey Dennis, I managed to reproduce what you described in the latest version of AP. Unfortunately setting the language to German is not enough in this case, each workflow step has to be updated separately with its German translation.  That can be done by: Clicking on a workflow step. Selecting the Activity settings tab from the right-hand side table. Clicking on the globe icon under "Display name (workflow activity)" Filling in the German text field with the appropriate translation. Thanks for reaching out!     • Hi Karam, good to know you were able to reproduce the behavior. I can only repeat my statement from the first posting. I cannot recreate the error in our test system. Even if the German translation is not filled, it shows me the content of the default english value. Latest Version: 3.6.0.1699 Portal Language: German Display name (activity): empty Translation: only English value is filled with content Can you explain this behavior? I would have expected that Snow AP use the Settings/Localosation/DefaultCulture settings for an unfilled translation field. Best, Dennis

      • Hey again Dennis, I'm sorry I misunderstood your question at first. I'm not able to reproduce this issue, unfortunately. Can you provide me with the exact version numbers of both your test environment and the main one, please? It might be a bug that we've missed in a previous version. I'd also like to ask you to provide me with your Localation->DefaultCulture setting value. The version number can be found under the top right menu icon and is displayed like this as an example "Version: 3.6.0.1803" Thanks /Karam
