Merge Workspace App for Windows, Linux, and Mac into Workspace App

Major updates that introduce new content to support new product features/capabilities, modify existing content to change the behavior of existing product features/capabilities, or deprecate any existing content (along with the associated product features/capabilities), which require all customers to make necessary adjustments beforehand

Summary

Flexera will consolidate the products Workspace App for Windows, Workspace App for Linux, and Workspace App for Mac into a single product named Workspace App. All existing releases and mappings from platform-specific products will be migrated to the unified product.

Previously, separate products were maintained for each operating system. However, there is no separate installation package for these platforms, as the software is distributed and installed under the single product name Workspace App regardless of the operating system.

Although the product is distributed and installed as Workspace App across all supported operating systems, the End-of-Life (EOL) dates differ by platform. To preserve platform-specific lifecycle information, the platform designation (Win, Linux, Mac) will be maintained within the Version field using bracketed notation.

Ex: 21.6 (Win), 24.11 (Mac), 2604 (Linux).

Impact

This change will impact customers who rely on Technopedia Product ID/Release ID & Names, or previously discovered data mapped to the old product will be mapped to the new product. The change requires the customer to manage downstream processes and reporting in their organization.

Note:

->  As part of the new CCN process, releases with the updated name have already been created in Technopedia.

->  The migration of discovered data mappings will occur after 1, 2, or 4 weeks, depending on the CCN type. In this case, it will be one week.

->  Accordingly, the new release IDs are included in the spreadsheet to help manage downstream processes and organizational reporting

The attached spreadsheet provides a complete list of software products and releases impacted by the product name change from “Workspace App for Windows, Workspace App for Linux, and Workspace App for Mac " to "Workspace App" including detailed information for each updated product.
