Changes to FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications agent configuration not taking effect
Changes made to the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications (FNMEA) agent configuration such as hostname, port adjustments, or enabling debug logging, may fail to take effect. This situation can lead to issues such as log upload failures or the agent not starting.
A common reason for configuration updates not applying is insufficient permissions for the user running the agent service. The account responsible for the service must have Read, Write, and Modify permissions on the \FNMEA Agent\ folder and all contents. This requirement applies across Windows and Linux environments.
- In Windows, if the service is running under Local System, ensure the Users group also has these permissions.
- You can confirm whether permissions are correctly set by launching the agent configuration GUI by running the
AgentConfiguration.batfile. In the command window that opens, the application should run, but if permissions are missing, you will see(Access is Denied)error messages in the prompts.
