Releases Changes for Windows Features On Demand (FOD)

Class 2

Customers should be prepared and take actions

Change Summary

Features on Demand (FODs) are Windows feature packages that can be added at any time to Windows 10 or Windows Server 2019. Currently, the FOD packages that have been captured in Technopedia follow the Windows OS versions on which they are installed. Flexera is planning to remove these separated FOD releases and create a generic FOD release instead, considering FOD is an included feature in Windows OS instead of a separate download. It will also make it easier for our customers to maintain FOD releases.

The following FOD releases will be removed:

·         Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT), release 1809, 1903, 1909, 20H2

·         WebDriver, release 1809, 1903, 1909

·         XML Paper Specification (XPS) viewer, release 1803, 1809, 1903, 1909

Impact

This change will impact customers who have relied upon discovered data evidence mappings for these products. New Release IDs will be created for this change and all relevant discovered evidence mappings will be remapped to the new Release IDs.

The full list of changes is in the attachment below.  Note that Version Group/Version/Releases tagged 'To be deleted' will be removed from Technopedia in 6 months.

When

Customers should expect these changes to have been completed starting from November 4th  to November 11th.
