Cause

This error usually occurs during setup initialization (small progress bar), before any of the installation dialogs appear.

Resolution

  1. If you are attempting to install software over a network connection, copy the installation files to your local hard drive and run the installation from your own computer. If you are not installing over a network, try one or more of the following troubleshooting steps that usually resolve this issue:

    Clean the Temp Directory

    Acquire Administrative Privileges on Your Computer

    Configure the DCOM Settings on Your Computer

    Detect and End Previously Running Installation Processes

    Update Your Computer

    Update to the Latest InstallShield Installation Engines

  2. Reboot and try the installation again.
